In a classic case of “are we there yet” this fantastic voyage into the “Enderverse” begins in a world of humans versus aliens (“Buggers”) intent on their mutual destruction. While you probably think that you’ve heard it all before, Orson Scott Card has devised a new ultimate weapon to be pitted against the alien horde…. our children.
I really enjoyed the specifics of the universe created in this series and the deep dive required when contemplating the potential impact humans living in space and interacting with alien species would have. What makes it truly special however is the awesome narration of Stefan Rudnicki and Harlan Ellison who bring each of the charactors to life. If you want to really experience what Audible can do with a sci-fi book, this series might be what you’ve been looking for.
With the first book in the series about to come out as a movie, you’ve got the classic choice. To read it before or after you watch the movie. Either way you go, I think you’ll enjoy the journey.
